Newmarket July Festival #Blog for those short sighted and dont care to read the blog I have a podcast on today here below

#blog day 1 July Festival

1.50 Bahrain Trophy Stakes (Group 3) (Class 1)

Tip Waldstern 9/1 1pt EW.

John Gosden has won this race Before With Masked Marvel who is related to Waldstern and he was one of the few who won this avoiding the Royal Ascot Route, Infact Masked Marvel has a very similar Profile Ridden By Jimmy Fortune that day 2011, Those that Ran at Royal Ascot were in a different race to the winner KE7TH…and Id say the ratings are way over the top from that race and they are better Judged on previous Numbers, that said the King Edward the 7th & Queens Vase are good markers for this race So, Nayef Road Eagles by Day Both have chances here Id Prefer to save on Boerham a Grand type Trained by William Haggas. I Think the Betting on the races reflects Royal Ascot but it doesnt reflect the Pedigrees and Progress History of races Here and theres most definatly Value to be had and to get the better of the layers with Looking at History Pedigree going Trainers in these races. Im always Looking for Value for my Base who are not wealthy New to racing and just want a bet for fun at Working mans Prices so Im Not putting anyone off the favs or Royal ascot Lines, if you have your Own angle stick with it. no one is wrong, sometimes I like form sometimes I like what could be based on Pedigree of Horse and Trainer. Tip Waldstern 1pt EW 9/1 Save Boerham, Tricast Nayef Road.

2.25 Tattersalls July Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1)

I Think theirs a Hundres reasons to take on this fav? Dont Get me wrong He Looks star Quality Not sure where the speed is from last day, He Looked Leggy and Ive seen these types before sometimes they are growing and it can make them weak for a short Period, Plus The Dam 2nd dam were Bred for soft and todays Ground will be a lot firmer than June Good to firm, maybe he got away with the conditions, as they sure were Kicking up the turf and it Looked loose on top, Hes got a Soft ground action rounded hits the turf pretty hard, I think if it Turned up Wet and Rain might be around then No worries He got a chance, But I think far to much is being made of that Newmarket Race and Potentiol, when you have Royal Ascot Horses in this race and the Five to Concentrate on are Guildsmen Platinum Star Royal Lythm The Fav Already Discussed and King Neptune, The Coventry form Looks absolutly rock solid Gold, and Guildsman can go two better here today for Archy Watson, I have got to say However, The Pedigree of Royal Lythm by First season Sire and son of Galileo?Gleneagles out of a french Dam who won a Listed Race+ second in a gp3 in France! Probably one to keep close tabs on for the Irish Guineas Next yr, again is bred to apreciate softer Conditions plus was making a run at Ascot? Isolated a bit out wide and was making Late Gains before being Impeded by his stablemate. Id say this Pedigree is one to take serious as Gleneagles Looks like he could be an absolute Huge Stallion in the Bloodstock world. Given what Southern Hills Did already.Even Platinum Stars Bred for the Poly and good to soft, a Son Of Lope de vega the family of the Aga Khans on the dam side Most do act on Good to firm so one to pay attention to as the speeds there King Neptune is Bred for the Going has the speed and the form Behind Siskin has been Boosted in no Uncertain Terms and Relating that New formlines Boosts King Neptune to 124 Guru-predicted rating! thats a performance of the Equivilent of a 110 Rating, add 14 carrying 9 stone to the flat cieling of 10 stone and vwallah you get 124 simples, based on the distance he finsihed behind siskin last day given siskens recent performance and boosted Numbers we have a 10/1 winner ladies and Gents. if it Rains then the fav and Royal Lytham Guilded Platinum star all come into play given them Pedigrees. Looking at Royal Lythm he could get away with good to fim looking at his action but he may need further already like 7 furlongs on this ground. Tip KING NEPTUNE 10/1 1/2PT EW Save Guildsman Tricast Royal Lytham****. EW

3.00 bet365 Handicap (Class 2)

Street Parade =Woven= Gabriel the Wire Three 3yos I Like here, the fav Ridden by SDS could be also useful and well see how the draw plays out the Pam sly Horses also cant be forgotten, the Haggas runner is nice but firm Ground is ???? MOMKIN 5/2 NAP 3PTS WIN,, Save Urban Icon 4/1 1/2pt

5.10 John Deere & Ben Burgess Handicap (Class 3)

Balgair Moqtarreb-Artistic Rifles an ordinary Handicap which can go to the 5yo Balgair a race thats generally won by 3 or 4yos I think the 5 y o may have the edge I think Balgair still has not reached his Potentiol and is an Improving 5yo.

#VAAL South Africa Jo Burh 1 hr ahead of BST

TIP Seemyvision Win 3/1 1/2pt Sarah is coming off a break but is useful im just taking a chance with See myvision who also Looks Decent 2yo, Sarah may or may not need this but will go close so its a punt really

12.15 Guantanamo Bay 8/1 and scare the Bjeesis out of Dublin Quays the fav and Ring of Fire whos on a recovery Mission from a disaster run last day which was all wrong and can be discounted, the value is with Guantanamo Bay the class is with Dublin Quays and Ring of fire, but not that much separates them and this is the trainers track. Dorrie sham the Queen of the Vaal.

12.50 INTERBET.CO.ZA 0861 150 160 MAIDEN PLATE (F & M)

Musyatara by Var {SPEED INFUENCE} out on an Elusive Quality Mare Mid range stamina. Looks Best here a nice bred 2yo taking on the older horses but its the right time of yr in the southern Hemisphere as they all have their Birthdays soon in 3 weeks. Rainboy Haze looks a danger along with Scarlet Tiger for Candice Dawson.

Blue Spark 11/8 2pts win Hopefully get some funds for Newmarket.

Below further Info for races this weekend friday sat

Newmarket Trainer Case file Roger VarianNewmarket Trainer Case file Roger Varian

Roger Varian, trainer of Cape Byron, said:

“He ran a number of good races last year when the cards did not fall quite right for him.

“With the way he won the Victoria Cup, he looked like a horse that would be just as comfortable – if not more comfortable – back down a furlong where the field went quicker.

“We were very confident that the Wokingham was set up lovely for him and it proved to be that way.

“It was the most dominant display of his career. We had made a July Cup entry for him a number of weeks before Ascot, so we had it in our mind he could be very good over this trip.

“There are some nice horses in the race but you could argue that there is not a sprinter stamping his authority on the division at the moment.

“It is an open year and a good year to have a runner in the race.”

Latest Darley July Cup odds from bet365:
11-4 Advertise, 7-2 Dreams Of Dreams, 9-2 Cape Byron, 8 Ten Sovereigns, 9 Brando, 12 Limato, Pretty Pollyanna, 16 Fairyland, 20 Speak In Colours, So Perfect, 25 Glorious Journey, 33 Major Jumbo, 50 Lim’s Cruiser, 66 Donjuan Truiumphant, 125 All The King’s Men.
All quoted. Each way 1/5th of the odds 1-2-3.

Trainer File Charlie Appleby, Everyone who follows this and my Twitter Knows I tipped Masar weeks before the Derby ante post as bog as 25/1 Hes Back after seasonal Debut which would have Brought him reaching His Peak and Rates the One they have to beat here.

Charlie Appleby, trainer of Masar, said:

“Masar has enjoyed a faultless preparation since his run in the Hardwicke Stakes. We are confident that he is in as good a condition as we have ever had him and is the one they have to beat on Thursday.

“The Hardwicke didn’t pan out as we would have liked, he had that hiccough at the start, then they went steady and he was a bit free and had to come wide around the field. But he showed that his enthusiasm for the game is still there, had a nice blow afterwards and has come forward both physically and mentally since then.

“We were pleased with the way that he prepped going into that run, but running first up over a mile and a half at that kind of level was a big ask and there is nothing better than getting a race under your belt.

“The improvement that we hope we have seen since then means that we are confident that he can make up the three lengths on Mirage Dancer – provided Sir Michael’s horse hasn’t improved by another three lengths in the meantime!

“Comparing generations is always difficult but, while Hawkbill was a multiple Group 1 winner, Masar is a Derby winner so I would like to think that he has a bit more class than Hawkbill.”

Latest Princess Of Wales’s Tattersalls Stakes odds from bet365:

6-5 Masar, 9-4 Mirage Dancer, 6 Baghdad, 12 Dashing Willoughby, 14 Communique, Desert Encounter.
All quoted. Each way 1/4 of the odds 1-2.

Trainer File William Haggas

William Haggas, the trainer of Beshaayir and One Master, said:

“One Master ran a fantastic race in the Queen Anne, at one point I thought that she had it in the bag. She travelled well and picked up well, she just didn’t see out the last half-furlong.

“She is a genuine, lovely filly, who might not quite be at her best over a mile, but she’s pretty good over seven furlongs – unfortunately, there is only one Group 1 race over that trip, the Prix de la Foret, which she has already won.

“We were toying with the idea of waiting for the Minstrel Stakes [a Group 2 event over seven furlongs at The Curragh on 20th July] but she is in good form and ready to go so we plumped for the Tattersalls Falmouth instead.

“One Master does seem to be at her best with some cut in the ground, so any rain would help her, though that wouldn’t suit Beshaayir, who wants it fast.

“Beshaayir has done very well since her Group 2 win, when she might have had a slight fitness advantage. She’s likely to make the running again on Friday, although I’ll leave that up to Frankie [Dettori].

“We decided to miss the Duke Of Cambridge Stakes with her because her owner [Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum] and I had another filly for that race, Move Swiftly, who won, and also because I believe Beshaayir is better fresh. So this race was always the plan.

“I have not had many shots at the Falmouth in the past but it would be a lovely race to win.”

Latest Tattersalls Falmouth Stakes odds from bet365:
5-2 One Master, 7-2 I Can Fly, Qabala, 4 Beshaayir, 7 Veracious, 14 Mot Juste.
All quoted. Each-way 1/4 of the odds 1-2.
