I learned so much from this Great man, Especially Bloodstock, which I’ve Been studying Vehemently Since I started Reading Steve’s Books and Purchased many Books on Bloodstock and Progeny of Racing Bloodstock, During the Years, My Racing Boss! Steve Taplin, whom I dedicate this #Blog to.

2.30 Chesham Stakes (Listed Race) Cl1 (2yo) 7f I

PINATUBO 1PTS Win My Racing Manager Really Likes the O’Brien Colt Lope De Fenandez so we are going Head to Head Ive had Pinutabo on my Mind for a while and waiting to see what race they went for being by Shamardal this makes sense plus it is generally easier of the 2yo contests but who knows what else is Lurking over this extra furlong?

3:05Jersey Stakes (Group 3) Cl1 (3yo) 7

Happy Power 17/2 1pt ew Split Fun Bet Maries Diamond 12/1 1/4pt EW Exacta fun

Happy Power Steps back from a Mile last day, He is related o Chevely Park winners I think this is a bit of Gamesmanship on the trainers part making a deal of the trip, I dont think theres a faster Horse than Happy Power at the end of this 7f Angels Hideaway is a fav of mine I just think she needs to step up not down, Both Fillies Angels Hideaway and So Perfect should Both run well maybe needing more of a test, Space Blues and Urban Icon both have winning chances and I wont put you off either, its a tough race Ive seen an angle so Im Going with Happy Power.

3.40 Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) (Class 1)

DEFOE WIN 4/1 4PTS Mirage Dancer, Masar, Southern France, La Ti Dah

My Derby Winner Returns & I would Love to see Him win but my Head rules my heart here Defoe is all class Tipped the last day and Hel be hard to stop again Masar may be in Great Order but he just might fade at the end but only, Mirage Dancer has gone Unoticed here and Must be a ride and a half for Pat Dobbs who I think Uses the British Summer now as a Busmans Holiday from where he is settled Now in the UAE. He Used to be one of my fav Jocks but I think he is just resting during our Summer so It will be Interesting to see if he comes out of relax Mode for this race has to right? Has to. La Ti Dah is another who has awin chance if finding her best form.

4.20 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (Group 1) (British Champions Series) (Class 1)

Special Featured International Jockey! GAVIN LERENA @gavlerena07

Gavin Lerena with His Dad Tex in the Early days.

Full Name= Gavin Juan Lerena. 33! His Dream is to Ride a Royal Ascot Winner? @gavlerena07 Any UK Trainers want a great Headline 2020? Please Get in touch.

Gav Lerena Shergar cup 2016 2 winners.
Gav Lerena wins Hong Kong Jockey challenge 2017
Kevin Lerena Word Boxing Cruiser-weight Champion with Gav Lerena, A family of Champions
Gavin Lerena Winning The Group 1 South African Classic 2019 Aboard Hawwaam a 3y’o colt by Silvano. Possibly the Best ever 3y’o South Africa has Produced Trained by Mick De Kock.

Born on 2 July 1985 Johannesburg South Africa Aged 33, Past Champion Apprentice and Champion Professional Jockey in South Africa, Gavin eclipsed the long-standing apprenticeship record of 283 winners, held for many a decade by the legendary Michael Roberts. & it was Michael Roberts South Africa Champion Jockey in Britain what sparked my Interest in International Racing especially South African Racing which is not short of Big Time Players on the world Scene with the Likes of Mike De Kock & David Ferrari’s: UAE! & Hong Kong Respectively.

I Myself have Been so Impressed with Gavin Lerena as a Jockey! it came as No Surprise to me when he Entered the fray During the Jockeys challenge at Ascot: During the Annual Shergar cup, representing the rest of the World! He Duly rode them to sleep with two smart displays from the saddle with a double of Winners which weren’t Particularly fancied on the form, he followed this with a Stint in Britain! Riding! where He wasn’t Supported by any Bigger Yards with Good winning Chances,’ which was an absolute Travesty, & a waste of one of the Worlds Elite Power!! Class Jockeys, I must say I was Pretty Ashamed of the way We Treat Gavin while he was here! with only a few Good people supporting Him: Unfortunately there just wasn’t the Ammo he is Used to comparing to his Native South Africa!! where he can choose his rides at Will, he is held in such High Esteem. If you do come across one of His Profiles in the South African Media you will see His Dream of all Dreams is to Ride a Horse at Royal Ascot 2020 maybe?, His Ultimate Dream would be to Ride a Royal Ascot Winner! what a great headline that would make for any top Trainer in Britain: I know John Gosden and His wife Rachel Hood visited South-Africa 2018 for the Capes Blue & white Fashion Dress L’Ormarins Queens Plate festival also sponsored by Cartier. where they were Highly Impressed with South African Racing, Obviously there is a Link Here with The Mighty Gosden’s Great Long Time Owners and Gavin’s Retainer in South Africa Through the Legendary Racing Bloodstock House of Oppenheimer, UK -ZA Through the De Beers Mining Company which was Created by Englishman Cecil Rhodes where Both UK and South African Houses owned and ran De Beers Mining to this Day employing many Thousands of People worldwide. Frankie Dettori is retained by the UK Family & Gavin Lerena is retained by the South African Family So the Links to Royal Ascot are Huge if anyone Can see the great Headline in Training today. In My Opinion South African Racing in our UK Winter should be covered by all the Main channels, it is on Turf the riders and Horses and trainers are very much the same as UK Horse racing, I am Dumbfounded the UK Has Not adopted South African Racing in our winter as a replacement for our Summer flat turf racing! yet this would enable extra Prize money for their Product which is a great Product, I’ve Been a Subscriber to Tellytrack.com for many Yrs Now, and it is second to none in the winter!! instead of AW! you can have real Summer flat Turf racing with similar tracks and Riding styles as the UK Summer flat Turf, it is a No Brainer for me. they have a fantastic Product being Ignored by our Racing Media. Just Absolute Madness for me. Hopefully ATR? will go big on this if they are reading? Back to Gavin Lerena! who is Quickly Getting back to His Most Powerful best after his freak accident last winter and is caught right up to be 4th in the current Jockeys Championship? not far off the leaders!! Quite a remarkable id say?. if no one has seen Gavin Ride then your in for a treat if you follow him through the year in South Africa.

He Won on South Africa’s Best 3 yo! Possibly in History? this Season for His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum.

During the Group 1 South African Classic. Namely Hawwaam a 3y’o Colt by Silvano out of a Jet-master Mare, He’s only been Beaten Once in 7 runs and that was a massive surprise Obviously had an Off day which all Class Horse are allowed to do.

wishing Gavin the Very Best from Flat racing Guru UK Hoping He will get His Dream of Riding a Winner at Royal Ascot 2020 & Beyond.

Certain names spring to mind when reminiscing abiut Royal Ascot and here are some of main heroes.

If there ever was a horse to personify equine greatness, the once-in-a-lifetime Frankel was just that. Unbeaten in a stunning career spanning three seasons under the tutelage of the late Sir Henry Cecil, he recorded five of his fourteen wins at Ascot, with two of them coming at the Royal meeting. His win in the 2011 St James’ Palace Stakes was as nail-biting as it was electrifying, with the eventual winning margin just 3/4 of a length, the shortest margin he ever won by. A year on, things could have hardly have looked more different. Frankel powered effortlessly clear of a star-studded Queen Anne field and earned himself a rating of 147, the highest ever recorded since ratings began after the Second World War. He was, officially, the best racehorse we have ever seen.

The superstar filly Attraction’s story was one of fairytales. Born with crooked forelegs, her owner/breeder the Duke of Roxburghe believed he would never be able to sell her as a yearling and elected to race her in his own colours instead. But her unstylish pedigree and unique action proved to be no obstacle. She stormed to victory at Royal Ascot as a two-year-old, winning the 2003 Queen Mary Stakes by three lengths. A year later Attraction returned to record her eighth consecutive win in the Group 1 Coronation Stakes, with a bold pillar-to-post display that had by then become the hallmark of a horse that the public had taken to their hearts. She retired in 2005 with five Group 1 wins to her name, and will forever be remembered as the first filly to win both the English and Irish 1000 Guineas.

Saeed Bin Suroor

Since 1995 Saeed Bin Suroor has been a fixture at Royal Ascot as the main trainer for Godolphin, the thoroughbred racing enterprise founded and owned by Sheikh Mohammed of Dubai. Godolphin’s emblematic royal blue silks have been carried to victory many times at the Royal Meeting thanks to horses under the care of Bin Suroor, a former policeman from the Emirate. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Bin Suroor enjoyed a sustained run of dominance rarely seen in British horse racing, in that time guiding the likes of Dubai Millennium, Fantastic Light, Kayf Tara, Doyen and Mutafaweq to glory at Royal Ascot, often in partnership with the hugely popular jockey Frankie Dettori. Bin Suroor’s glittering CV contains four British Champion Trainer titles, seven wins in the Queen Anne Stakes, four in the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes and five Ascot Gold Cups.

Fred Archer

Ryan Moore’s brilliance at Royal Ascot in 2015, when the jockey’s genius in the saddle helped him notch a post-war record of nine winners at a single Royal Meeting, had the welcome side-effect of catapulting one of horse racing’s greatest ever names back into the spotlight. The all-time record for most Royal Ascot victories in a year by a jockey is twelve, set by Fred Archer in 1878. The record may have been set in a distant age but Archer’s talents were from another world. By the age of 29 he had ridden 2,748 winners at a strike rate of 34%, had been crowned Champion Jockey in Britain 13 years in a row and ridden a double century of winners in a season eight times. Archer’s life ended tragically after the 1886 season. A long-standing battle with depression, probably caused by a lifetime of fasting (at 5’10” he was unnaturally tall for a jockey) and intensified by the death of his wife, ended in suicide at his Newmarket home. His achievements should never be forgotten. Past and Present Royal Ascot & Shergar Cup Winning Jockeys,

Lester Piggot! MENGLI KHAN, 5/1 1PT WIN, I had no Idea this Lad was still in Training I’m Glad to see he is, I remember this Horse very well when with Hugo Palmer, he should have won on debut but his size just prevented that as he was Held in the Highest regards and I suppose he’s not big for a jumper but he was big for a 2yo 3yo When I last saw Him, I’ve looked at his form and he’s back on the flat what he was Bred for. I love this horse so I’m Tipping Him and I don’t know anything about his Jumping Career as I do not follow Jumps in any shape or form But I hope he wins this Race, he was a real fav of mine at 2 just for his Brute size and cuteness of being big. I remember Hugo Palmer Nominating him to go to the very top before he ran, He always said you can’t miss him he has an enormous head, Beautifully Bred also. by Lope de Vega, His Brother was a 6f sprinter! Very special and some of his family were sprinters, He’s obviously taken after something from generations back maybe along with the dam, as he’s really bred for 10 12 f with speed in his genes too. with him going to the Jumps Game, now running over these marathon trips so he’s not bred in any way shape or form for this trip, I’ve had to go back to my files from 5 yrs back he was bought at Tatts book 1, by Rob Speer’s for 150.000 Guineas,
